How did you first get into photography?
How did you first get into photography?
I have always had a passion for photography, ever since I was very young. I got my first camera (a 24mm) at the age of 11. I loved to take pictures of just about anything...family, friends, nature and of course my pets! Not too much has changed since these are still some of my favorite subjects to photograph. I continued my love for photography at the University of Delaware, where I learned to develop my own film and print my own photos in a dark room. I also worked as a photo lab monitor. Soon, I had friends and family requesting copies of my photos, and eventually hiring me to do their weddings, engagement photos, christenings, senior portraits and other special events. When I photographed my first wedding, that was when I realized that photography was my true passion.
I set my prices low for many reasons. First and foremost, I love what I do and want to share my love for photography with as many people possible and by providing high quality photography at an affordable price, I can do just that. I also work full time for a non-profit organization demonstrating that money is not my primary goal. I do what I do because I love what I do! I can’t say that I will always be the most inexpensive photographer around, but I will always try to keep my prices affordable.
I do! If you or someone you know is hosting a non-profit event in my surrounding area, I will provide my photography services free of charge! I would provide you with a CD containing all of the photos I took at your event, and of course you would have the option to purchase prints from me as well -- at a discounted price. I am a member of The American Child Photographers Charity Guild, which is a non-profit, volunteer based organization of child photographers from all over the country
who have come together to form a guild dedicated to children in need and their families. Visit ACPCG for more details. I also offer a $25 gift certificate to anyone who refers my services to a new customer! The gift certificate is good for one year and can be used to purchase prints or towards your next session with me.
I do not sell the Copyrights to my photos; however, if you purchase a CD or a wedding package where the CD is included, then I do give you my permission to have the pictures printed at the store or lab of your choice. I only ask that you obtain my written permission before publishing or selling my photographs for profit.
I can add special effects and non-traditional photography to most photos; there will be a per image charge, depending on the editing time that will go into each photo. Check out my Special Effects Gallery here. Please allow approximately 2-4 weeks for any special effects or non-traditional photo editing.
No need to fret or reschedule. I can edit out most imperfections including pimples, scratches, freckles, scars, rashes, etc. I would need to know in advance what you would like to be corrected with the photo, as I do not want to remove any beauty marks mistaken for imperfections, etc. There may be a small fee for corrections that are out of the norm with editing. Click here to see before and after photos that I have edited.
I have a portable studio that I can bring to your location for indoor use, this is especially great for children's portraits or family portraits with young children or newborns because you don't have to leave the comfort of your own home. I also love to do my photo shoots outside at your location choice, or I can provide you with options, weather permitting of course. I prefer to take natural looking portraits, either posed or candid, that emphasize your personality and allow true emotion into the photographs, leaving you with timeless memories. I encourage my subjects to bring their ideas for posed shots to create these fun and natural looking portraits. The photo shoot may last up to three hours.
I am based out of Newark, Delaware, but will travel to all of Delaware, Southern New Jersey, Eastern Maryland and Southeastern Pennsylvania, although a travel charge may apply.
My editing and uploading turnover time is approximately 2 - 6 weeks. At that point I will have your photos online on my Client Galleries page for your viewing pleasure. Your gallery will be password protected (you will choose the password at the photo shoot / event) and you can give your gallery’s web page address and password to friends and family so they can view the photos and purchase prints as well. From that point, it is about another 2 weeks to receive your actual prints either in the mail or by pick up.
All of the photos in my client galleries are numbered at the top of the photo. Please e-mail me at ksheridanphoto@aol.com with the photo number and size of print(s) you would like to order. Please visit my Prices for print packages and single print prices.
I am available by phone at 302.598.2679 or by e-mail at ksheridanphoto@aol.com for any other questions you may have.
